Michael Hinkelman is a writer and journalist who worked at the Atlanta Business Chronicle and Philadelphia Daily News from 1988-2016.  During that time, he reported on state and local government, the federal courts and small business. In 1993, he won a Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Financial and Business Journalism for an investigation into the finances of the Atlanta Public School system. In 1997, Hinkelman joined the Philadelphia Daily News as a member of its enterprise reporting team called “Rethinking Philadelphia.” He subsequently covered local news, the federal courts and wrote a column about small business for the Daily News. He now blogs about small business and Philly-based startups.
